...except for the following vital information:
Bid in confidence:
I've sold a digital camera (my big old 1.5Mp Canon powershot - Beautiful pictures but a bugger to use)
through eBay before and have never had anything but good feedback. I'm a serious seller looking for a serious buyer.
Post and packaging with insurance will be just £8.00 and there's No Reserve! UK BIDDERS ONLY PLEASE!
The camera:
This is a UK spec. FujiFilm FinePix (fp) 6900z (or Zoom) which I bought from a UK Fuji distributor in mid 2002.
The R.R.P. was around £550 when I made my investment in this piece of easy-to-use Fuji technology.
It's in excellent condition with very little wear, despite the fact it's been kept busy since I got it.
Think of it as tried and tested rather than used.
I turned semi-pro in 2003 and some of the pictures I've taken with this camera can be seen on
The Official Chiltern Sculpture Trail web site, which I also designed.
A wee advert there - I'm cheap!
The main features of this great 'prosumer' camera include 6x optical zoom (plus a useful digital zoom/in-camera crop facility), 6 Mega pixel (2832 x 2128 res.) output from the Fuji octagonal element SuperCCD and a pop-up multi-mode flash, all in a package little larger than most compact cameras! It uses SmartMedia memory (cheap and easy to get anywhere) and can even be used as a web cam for video conferencing via the included USB lead. You lucky people.
It's a doddle to use in Auto mode and has produced some great results for me, examples below. In manual mode, it's possible to get some fine pictures in difficult conditions. The video mode (Audio-free AVI - up to 160 seconds per clip) is handy to capture movement and features like fast startup, rapid-fire shooting and auto-exposure bracketing make life easy. This camera also features proper manual focusing via a focus ring with a 'zoomed' feature, a hot-shoe for additional flashes (it has it's own built in which has always been good enough for me) and its very clear 2" TFT colour screen is great. The Electronic View Finder (EVF) is a high resolution microscreen which gives the camera an SLR feel and is very useful in sunny conditions. There's a CCD-RAW mode for uncompressed images (17Mb Tif) which I've printed at A3 on my big printer for posters, and the images were still sharp!

The other bits:
This sale includes the original Fuji carry strap (recently washed) plus original Fuji 16Mb SmartMedia memory card. Lens cap,
AC charger and fully charged NP-80 Lithium Ion rechargeable battery, all in perfect condition.
Original Fuji AC power adapter/charger, again as new.
All original box and packaging, hand books, software on CD and leads. I've checked I've got everything which came with the camera
against the checklist which was supplied with its instructions.
Reason for sale:
I've just upgraded to a Fuji s5000 as I wanted to be able to shoot video with sound for use on my web site. I've seen FP6900z's go for well
over £300 on eBay, so don't be shy, put in a bid today - but only if you actually have good taste and want it.
If you've got a question before bidding, please use my mail link below and I'll tell you what
you need to know.
Sense of adventure?:
This camera has accompanied me to Lands End and John o'Groats. It's been most the way up Ben Nevis and 380ft underground in the Hellfire Caves.
It's survived a spontaneous trip to Italy and bouncing around for a week all over Rhodes. It's a camera that loves to travel, so
I'll only let it go to a good home where I'm sure you'll take it out for regular walks.
I've a friend who has a Fuji FP602 and I've just got a s5000 but this 6900 seems a lot more rugged and substantial than both of them.
It's metal (Magnesium alloy body, it say's here. Fancy.) rather than plastic, for starters.
Sure, it's also a little heavier than the newer models from Fuji but I've found that makes it easy to hold nice and steady.
Example pictures - Click a thumbnail or two below to see a larger version. These pictures were all taken by me, Paul Smith, with my Fuji digital camera and appear on my web site at www.snapsandbytes.co.uk. They're all my copyright property and can't be used elsewhere without my written permission. Thanks. (Note: All these photos - except the big flower, which is the 1Mb file as it came out of the camera - have been compressed, shrunk and/or cropped for 'net use.)
Payment:
I'll accept cash (either meeting somewhere if you're not too far away - in which case the £8.00 can go towards my petrol -
or via some sort of secure postal thing. I leave those details to you) or a postal order/cleared cheque.
You may also put the money straight into my UK bank account at any Abby National branch.
UK BIDDERS ONLY PLEASE!
Shipping:
I'll insure and send the camera and accessories well packaged by registered post. I think it'll cost me approx. £8.00 to send it to a UK mainland address, so that's what I've added for postage below.
If it's more, I'll pay the difference.
Questions?: Please e-mail me at pauls0069@aol.com and I'll answer them all.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my auction and happy bidding!
Paul Smith.
