NO LONGER STANDING. This work stood until 2002 towards the south-eastern side of the wood.
Weighing approximately four and a half tons and standing eight feet tall, this solid hemisphere was constructed from
beech blocks held together by threaded steel rods and nuts.
In the words of the artist, "The hemisphere sits... not quite at ease, silent, between attention and repose... solid and deaf...
generating its own mystery."

The remains of this sculpture can be seen next to a long, dark, still avenue lined either side by equidistantly planted trees,
near where Cranes by Sally Barker is now sited.
