EXTENDED LISTING! |
Final update: 12th November 2003. What was New? All this:WOW! I've decided that this site has become rather dated, as well as tricky to navigate. Future updates will be made to the new site: 'Fresh!' So I suggest you look there for new stuff in future!
Updated 11th October 2003. What was New? All this: ii) Video delight urge? Discover release via the VIDEORAMASCOPE page. Here you will meet Lava Lamp pleasure and Derren Brown face-shooting warnings. iii) Learn about more DVD's including Peter Kay's excellent second series of Phoenix Nights. iv) Observe: I'm selling one of my many digital cameras. Read about it here.
Updated 28th September 2003. What was New? All this: i) I had an e-mail from well known journalist and 'Weird Weekend' documentary maker Louis Theroux! The story is this: I send him this e-mail: Hello Louis I'm emailing you to say how much I enjoyed the Volume II DVD of The Best of Weird Weekends which I bought yesterday from HMV (£12.99 bargain!). I'd not really seen your work before last year, when I viewed probably the most [a word which means intensely funny, yet emotionally taught] piece of television it's ever been my good fortune to catch. The Hamilton's episode won lots of awards, I hope. If it didn't, you were robbed. In contrast, I found your Hypnosis investigation very difficult to watch. I just wanted to shout 'Wake up and smell the bullshit you dozy Americans!' at the screen. I'd not call it shocking, as people have preyed on the weak, needy and desperate since the dawn of time, but it was sickening to watch it being lapped up so readily. It reminded me that one person in twenty is in the bottom 5% intelligence bracket. And in a nation of 250 million people, that's 12.5 million potential victims of Marshal and his ilk. Grim. Swingers, Wrestling (I have a tin tea tray just here I can hit myself with for kicks later) and South Africa were a lot easier to watch. :-D Have you ever thought about doing a LT'sWW on british BDSM? I know a guy who insists on being called Masterful Dominator who's 72 and actually called Reg. There's a whole weird protocol which goes with the lifestyle too, plus a subculture based on rules and routine... Anyway, just a thought :-) Lastly, why is there no www.LouisTheroux.com or .co.uk? It'd be nice for fans and other admirers of your work to have somewhere to get information, background on some of your adventures... audio clips... who knows what. Every celebrity (oh yes you are. Don't try to deny it) should have one. Kind regards and best wishes for your future enterprises. Keep up the weird work.
Paul Smith And he replied: Hi there, I just wanted to say thanks for writing. I appreciated your thoughts on the shows and I'm glad you enjoyed the DVD. No plans for a website yet - it's time-consuming enough just doing the shows. All best to you, Louis All round nice bloke. :-) ii) Several smashing new photographs of people (well, people and me) have unmysteriously appeared on the Portraits page. iii) Lots of new video clips, including me driving like an idiot (8 /22Mb!), being a long way north (888Kb), farting about on Ben Nevis (6Mb/3Mb), and fooling about in Barcelona (25Mb!), are available to you, my adoring public, on my Videoramascope page. iv) DVDs added: Several, mostly from the world of Television. Take a look for yourself. v) Indie Magazine page. Added to with Octobers throbbing column of I.T. gristle which is entitled: Going Back The Hard Way. vi) The Arty Farty page has been blessed with a composite image of me. 29 years lie between my right eye and my left. Go. Look. Enjoy. Regret. Disgust. Death. vii) Naked Hats. Look for yourself, if you feel so inclined. viii) Another geocache which I've hidden has been added to my I, Geocacher page. ix) Minor changes to my Book of the Whatever, Naked Photo Album Index and Naked Barcelona pages. Happy hunting.

Go take a look for yourself. iii) A secret (yet strangely advertised here) game featuring insect cruelty can be reached by completing my Quiz page. iv) Yet again on the NPA page - A picture of some people with bicycles. Not one of my best. v) My DVD list has been spruced (Can you spot my lie? Look near Amilie) vi) Top photographer Martin Beddall asked me to add a copyright notice to a picture of Alan Davies which I'd blatantly stolen from his web site. Which, all things considered, was very good of him. The notice is now there, so hands off.
