October 2006: Soho Film Launch for CombatZone - A news story.

Danni, Lisa (at rear) and the staff of Soho Original Books. On the 24th of August Phoenix Films held a launch event at the 12 Brewer Street branch of the Soho Original Books chain. Their new product line is Combat Zone, which readers may have seen at July's ETO Show at the NEC. The four launch titles are The Girl Next Door, Home Wreckers, Bodacious Boobies and Daddy's Naughty Little Princess.

Lisa Patterson, MD of Phoenix Films was enjoying her busy day in London when I spoke to her. "So far so good! The products look really great and have been flying off the shelves. We plan to release between two and four films a month, with a break in September to let the original ones get established in the UK."

Kevin Moody, also of Phoenix, was just as enthusiastic. "We're very pleased with the sales of the first four Combat Zone titles. They're produced by the brother of the original Red Light District guy and are great quality. In the US they're very popular and we expect them to perform just as well here."

Anthony Alghabban, General Manager for the ten Soho Original Books shops said, "We're very excited about Combat Zone. It's proven to be a real success so far. We've had a couple of titles for three weeks in fact and they've gone well. The other two launch titles we got this morning and they look to be excellent too."
His staff got involved by sporting Combat Zone t-shirts all round and Danni, a dancer for Spearmint Rhino you may have met at the ETO Show, was jiggling and giggling from 4 'til 8pm to draw attention to the new products. She was also posing for free instant photos with purchasers of the £19.95 films. Having been the Face of Combat Zone for a few months, she's no stranger to Public Appearances and has worked with The Sport at various events.
She'd just about recovered from the photo-shoot for the poster advertising the launch. It'd taken place in a wood used by a paintball business near Birmingham, with a few too many stinging nettles for a scantily dressed girl in tax-deductible stripper-heels. The manageress also warned of poachers in the woods, which left Danni and Lisa nervously glancing between the trees. Danni did make one 'baller's day though, when she posed with his Cocker (it's a type of paintball gun, apparently) down her pants.

Future Combat Zone releases due for launch in October include Get Your Shit off My Black Dick, Plucked then Fucked, Sperm Drippers and Virgins of the Screen. Several other titles per month should follow. They'll all feature the classy foil slipcases that have helped the first four titles catch buyers' eyes.

If you're going to this year's Erotica you'll see a Phoenix Films stand and the Combat Zone range there, as well as Danni in her heels. 'Party Feet' are a girl's best friend, I'm told.
